"Be strong and of good courage. Do not be afraid nor be dismayed. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." -- Joshua 1:9
These are some of the most encouraging and comforting words in the Bible. God is always with us.
Jesus said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you,' and, 'Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world.'
Friends may fail us or turn against us. Foes may assail us with a vengeance. We may lose everything we hold dear. Some may have to pay a heavy price for what they believe in as we navigate our way through a world that is quickly turning against Christians.
But one thing is constant and unchangeable--the presence of Christ. The Lord our God is with us, always, forever, and wherever we go. What a glorious thought!
Prayer: "We thank you, O God, for your wonderful promises. We especially lift up our hearts in gratitude for the promise of your eternal presence. May we not forget you are with us when we walk through the darkest periods of life. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen."
Song--'Jesus What a Friend for Sinners' by the Talley Trio, a group of real pros. They sing this hymn informally and without instrumentation. It is a great song.
