The Beginning and the End

"I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, said the Lord, which is, which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." -- Revelation 1: 8

Alpha and Omega are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet.  Greek was the language in which the New Testament was written.  Thus, these words denote the first and the last, the beginning and the end.

As believers we are part of something eternal, infinitely bigger than any human being or even the stars in the universe.  Jesus told us that He was with the Father in the very beginning, even before time as we know it began, and He will be here at the end, when history as we know it comes to a close.

We therefore have nothing to fear.  He is with us, holding our hand.  The Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the Son of God, the King of Kings.  AMEN!

Prayer: "We praise Your holy name for the vastness of your presence and love.  We lift up our hearts in adoration of your never-ending power, a power that see us safely through right to the end of the age.  And even after that, You are there, and we will be with You.  We humbly thank you for loving us thoroughly.  In Christ's name, Amen."

Song: The Gaither Vocal Band sings 'Alpha and Omega.'
